How to find us

St Bega's Church

From the South and East:

From Penrith (M6 junction 40) follow A66 west to Keswick.
From the A66 roundabout on the edge of Keswick, take the A591 exit (3rd exit - signposted Carlisle).
After about 4 miles, turn left (signposted Scarness and Lakeside Lodges).
After Ľ mile, track leaves road through gate on left – follow track for ˝ mile, closing gates behind you. There is some parking space at the church.

From the North:

From Carlisle, follow the signs for the A595 (West) towards Cockermouth.
After approx. 18 miles turn left at Bothel onto the A591 (signposted Keswick).
Follow the road south towards Keswick for 7ľ miles (past Bassenthwaite village).
After passing the Ravenstone Hotel on left, take next turn right (signposted Scarness and Lakeside Lodges).
After Ľ mile, track leaves road through gate on left – follow track for ˝ mile, closing gates behind you. There is some parking space at the church.

From the West

Follow the A66 past Cockermouth towards Keswick. Just before reaching Bassenthwaite Lake, turn left (signposted Castle Inn).
Turn right immediately after leaving the main road, and right again on reaching the Ouse Bridge, crossing the river.
At the end of this road at Castle Inn, turn right onto the main A591 towards Keswick.
Continue on the main road for about 3 miles ignoring signs to Bassenthwaite Village.
After passing the Ravenstone Hotel on left, take next turn right (signposted Scarness and Lakeside Lodges).
After Ľ mile, track leaves road through gate on left – follow track for ˝ mile, closing gates behind you. There is some parking space at the church.

St John's Church

St. John's Church is situated near Bassenthwaite village, about 2˝ miles from St.Bega's Church. Follow the main road (A591) north (away from Keswick). The church is clearly visible on the right.
